What it is
Radical Acceptance is a DBT distress tolerance skill for completely accepting reality as it is in the present moment, without judging it, fighting it, or pretending it is different.
Why it works
Pain is unavoidable, but suffering is created when we fight reality (Suffering = Pain × Resistance). Accepting reality doesn't mean approval; it stops the exhausting struggle against facts that cannot be changed:
Radical Acceptance Shift
“This shouldn't have happened to me, it's completely unfair and I refuse to accept it.”
Practicing with Camic
Camic helps you identify areas of reality resistance and practice accepting painful facts mindfully.
Applied in real situations
